Thumbs Up is looking for two talented designers, one Product and one Graphic/Packaging Designer to work on its expanding gift, licensed and all manner of creative, innovative and design-driven products.
Product Role:

Your role would include but not be limited to:

  • Working as part of a team to research, develop new concepts, create CAD visuals and manage prototyping process.
  • Support the Product Manager to create high quality CAD visuals from a given brief.
  • Develop new concepts under your own steam and clearly present these ideas.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Fluent understanding of Adobe CS (Illustrator, Photoshop a must)
  • Sound knowledge of one of the follow; Rhino or Solidworks.
  • Understanding of different manufacturing methods
  • A meticulous attention to detail
  • An interest in the gift and retail industry would be useful, but not necessary.  
  • Proven experience of developing products
  • A keen eye for current market trends and innovation.
  • Be a hard working, positive team player, who is able to cope in an extremely fast-paced environment.
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience
  • A relevant design degree with portfolio to support this

Graphics Role:

Your role would include but not be limited to:

  • A need for both print and packaging experience
  • Helping to conceive and develop new product ideas.
  • Working as part of a team to develop prototypes, research current and future trends, packaging design, trade show visuals and exhibition structures, presentations and catalogues.
  • Design advanced sales materials for new products.
  • Creating CAD visuals of new products prior to launch.
  • Communicating with the Product Managers in terms of the general look and feel product ranges.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Fluent understanding of Adobe CS (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop a must).
  • Keen eye for composition, a meticulous attention to detail and a real interest in the gift and retail industry.
  • Have a positive attitude and enthusiasm to take advantage of every learning opportunity.
  • Strong experience of developing design concepts.
  • Ability to turn around quality work to tight timings.
  • Understanding of digital media capabilities and limitations.
  • A keen eye on market trends and industry innovation.
  • A hard worker and able to cope in an extremely fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of designing for web plus UX/UI would be an advantage as would a basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
