Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Design Brand Manager to join our busy professional team on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave. You will act as brand guardian, and be responsible for effectively and consistently embedding our new brand both within the conscious of the business and outside the organisation. You will be responsible for the quality of output for all creative work as well as mentoring, developing and coaching the creative and wider team.

Key Responsibilities:-

Supporting the business and the Communications team in conceiving and developing brand-focused design solutions that effectively communicate key messages, raise NGNs profile, safeguards our reputation and engages all audiences, internally and externally. Specific elements of the role are as follows:

  • Overseeing management of design studio including taking creative briefs, planning and scheduling studio time and ensuring all work is delivered on time and to budget
  • Oversee development and delivery of all visual assets - print and digital - ensuring all deliverables are high quality, on brand and fit for purpose
  • Apply creative thinking to every project, challenge convention
  • Supporting with developing creative concepts and design of internal and external event materials
  • Designing and delivering critical business documents including stakeholder submissions and reports
  • Mentoring, developing and coaching the creative team and educating about brand

Expertise, Knowledge and Experience:-

Essential:

  • Prior experience in the design industry
  • Confident working with both digital and print
  • Excellent knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, illustrator, InDesign etc)
  • An depth understanding of working across all digital and print platforms
  • Excellent time management and ability to work to tight deadlines without compromising quality of work

Desirable:

  • Ideally hold a degree in a related subject
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams across content, social media, commercial, design and technology
  • Presentation skills to communicate design ideas to a board of directors
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels

Experience in the following fields:

  • Managing a team or creatives and / or external agencies
  • Web design - Fully responsive, mobile first approach print

Testing environments

  • Digital (online creative content)
  • Graphic Design
  • Exhibition Design
  • Interior Design
  • Branding
  • UX design
  • Animation, Video and Photography

The Package:-

  • £32 - £36k per annum dependent upon skills & experience
  • 40 Hours per week
  • SSP for first 5 working days, then occupational sick pay for 6 months
  • 25 days annual leave per annum, not including bank holidays
